The O Family…Down Home Fun :) {The Woodlands,TX | Family Photographer}

I met Mrs. O by chance, and quickly found out we had a mutual friend…after chatting on and off for a while, I was thrilled when she asked me to do their family portraits.  I thought I knew from talking to her how much fun it would be to work with them, but I was wrong–it was 100x more fun than I had even anticipated!  I love this family, and am so happy that I could capture these moments for them, right in their own home :).  Thank you so much for letting me into your home, and into your lives!  A few favorites from their session…

The A Family…. {The Woodlands, TX | Family Photographer}

I love, love, love The A Family!  Sweetest family ever, nicest young ladies they have raised…and all of them so gorgeous too!  Absolutely love it every single time I get to work with them.  A few favorites from their last session…

Friday Favorites…Snapshots are Cool {The Woodlands, TX | Photographer}

I’ve taken so many images, and have so many different favorites for so many various reasons.  Social media, internet, and web-based portfolios are all great; but this online world we live in sometimes leads things to be a bit less personal.  I believe that every image has a story to tell, and that’s what I love doing for my clients so much!  I don’t always get a chance to tell the story behind every image though–what I love about it, what makes it special to me.  So, I thought I would start a weekly blog post that featured one of my favorite images…deconstructed.  The story behind it, the reasons I love it (whether they are technical reasons of lighting/composition/etc., or emotional ones about what and why the image makes me feel).  So check back every week–some of these shares will be personal ones, and others will come from clients’ sessions past and present…one of your images might be featured here!

Snapshots ARE cool :).  And so is “magic”.  My son has a fabulous imagination, and he gets really excited about new things.  He recently discovered “magic tricks” and we took a trip to the library to get him some books on simple magic tricks.  Thumbing through one of the (many) books, I came across this one and felt like a kid again myself when I pulled it off :).  Plus, it really makes my day when my boy thinks I’m super cool–at least for a few minutes :).  And yes, that’s him in the background–truly in awe of my “magic”!  Happy Friday everyone…I hope you have a magical weekend yourself!

I love the softness of the light at the end of this session, the beautiful backdrop of the farm, but most of all, I love the look on his face as he keeps an eye on that magical red balloon.  The way that simple things bring children such joy always brings a smile to my face…a sticker, an empty box, or a balloon–to them all of these things truly are pure magic waiting to happen :).  Happy Friday everyone, have a magical weekend!

This set of images makes me smile every time I look at them.  Do you know this age/stage–I call it the “ostrich stage”.  When they think that you can’t see them if they don’t see you :).  I love it, it cracks me up every time!  We were playing hide and seek during this session and that’s just what this little boy did–cover his eyes to make himself disappear.  I love the smile on his face when he “revealed” his hiding spot.  Children are such beautiful creatures–I love the way they see our world!  Happy Friday everyone!!

The S Family…. {The Woodlands, TX | Family Photographer}

I have photographed Miss K many times in the past, and each time is a special treat.  This little girl has so much personality, so much spunk–she’s just a joy to work with every time!  Some of my favorites from the session…

Friday Favorites…Happy Birthday Share {The Woodlands, TX | Photographer}

So, this image was not taken on my Dad’s birthday this week, but rather my daughter’s earlier this year.  Regardless, I love this picture of my Dad.  It makes me imagine the way he must have looked at me when I was my daughter’s age, and it makes me smile to see the love in his eyes.  There is something amazing about becoming a parent and seeing your own parents in a whole new light.  No matter how much you loved and appreciated them before, you realize how much they have sacrificed and how much they truly love you once you have children of your own.  My father is hard-working, funny, adventurous, loyal, and caring. I couldn’t ask for a better man to have been my role model, and now another role model for my own children!  Happy birthday to my Father, and Happy Friday to all!

The H Family…. {The Woodlands, TX | Family Photographer}

This was my third time to get to photograph members of this family this year, and each time has been a blast!  This time it was Mr. J’s turn in the spotlight :).  They are fun loving, super kind, and did I mention all gorgeous?!?!  Just a few from another great session with The H Family…thank you so much for continuing to trust me with your memories!

Friday Favorites…A Little bit of Spring to warm you up! {The Woodlands, TX | Child Photographer

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA with Friday Favorites the last couple of weeks…the busy season got the best of me and I wanted to make sure I could take care of all those client Christmas orders!  Well, it’s actually quite chilly in the state of Texas this week…too cold for this southern girl!  I needed a little something Spring-like to warm me up inside, and this image was just the ticket!  I love her expression in this image–it always makes me wonder what exactly she was thinking when she spied me through the flowers :).  And I love how those flowers frame her beautiful face and add a little whimsy or mystery to the image.  This image just screams Spring to me, and I’m already looking forward to warmer weather here!  Happy Friday everyone–stay warm wherever you are!

Today is a VERY special day…11-11-11.  Today is my Mother’s birthday :).  I have always loved both of my parents very much, but I think something special happens once you have children of your own–you realize how much your parents have always loved you, and you appreciate more how much they have sacrificed for you.   My mother is a part of everything I have become–my life, my work, my children.  Without her, my life not only would not be the same, it would not be at all.  Happy Birthday to my Mom–I love you so much!  And Happy Friday to all!
