Baby O in the Great Outdoors :)… {The Woodlands, TX | Newborn Baby Photographer}

Loved working with Baby O and his fabulous parents!  While outdoor sessions can pose some extra challenges, the results are so worth it here!  Mom and Dad were troopers–getting up early to start close to sunrise and sticking it out in the heat (which baby loved, but isn’t quite as pleasant for the rest of us :)!).  Dad was the victim of more than his share of baby “accidents”, but stuck it out with great humor to match.  Can’t wait to see Baby O again (yep, another Baby Planner :)–you can get more details of the Baby Plan by emailing me at sara@sarajensenphotography.com). A few favorites from Baby O’s first photoshoot…

Baby J…natural beauty {The Woodlands, TX | Newborn Baby Photographer}

I absolutely adore this newborn session of Baby J and his family!  I primarily work in my natural light studio for newborn portraits, but for this baby’s pictures we headed to the great outdoors–and Mother Nature sure does make a beautiful backdrop to showcase new life :)!  So, if you’re not sure that a studio Newborn Session is right for you, ask me about options for other unique styles and settings for your  newborn’s photographs.  You can contact me at sara@sarajensenphotography.com!  A few favorites from this session…

Baby C…. {The Woodlands, TX | Newborn Photographer}

Couldn’t get enough of Baby C and his lovely family!  He was one of the rare Newborn Sessions I have where we don’t know if it’s going to be a boy or girl until baby is born–loved the suspense of waiting to find out, and all of the fun we had with him during his session!

Friday Favorites…Baby Smiles {The Woodlands, TX | Baby Photographer}

I’ve taken so many images, and have so many different favorites for so many various reasons.  Social media, internet, and web-based portfolios are all great; but this online world we live in sometimes leads things to be a bit less personal.  I believe that every image has a story to tell, and that’s what I love doing for my clients so much!  I don’t always get a chance to tell the story behind every image though–what I love about it, what makes it special to me.  So, I thought I would start a weekly blog post that featured one of my favorite images…deconstructed.  The story behind it, the reasons I love it (whether they are technical reasons of lighting/composition/etc., or emotional ones about what and why the image makes me feel).  So check back every week–some of these shares will be personal ones, and others will come from clients’ sessions past and present…one of your images might be featured here!

They are elusive, a bit rare.  You can’t ask a newborn to smile for you, and no amount of foolishness (which I’m quite prone to do to get that smile from an older baby) is going to bring one on.  That’s why I love it so much when I capture a quick smile from a tiny newborn.  Natural, pure, completely real, and it always makes me wonder what exactly they’re dreaming about.  Tricks to capturing a baby smile?  Mostly patience and quick fingers…but it helps to be ready when you see them start making other faces in their sleep and you can tell they are starting to slip into that really deep sleep–that’s usually when a quick smile might flash by.  If you see a sad looking frown/silent cry face in their sleep–don’t put the camera down waiting for it to pass, but instead be prepared and ready to go, a smile sometimes follows quickly :).  Happy Friday everyone, and have a great weekend!

Baby D….. {The Woodlands, TX | Newborn Photographer}

There is something about photographing a Newborn…they make you remember the good things in life :).  Playing a little catch up with older sessions on the blog, and can’t even imagine how much Baby D has grown since I photographed him….

Baby L…Dreamy little girl! {The Woodlands, TX | Newborn Photographer}

Baby L was such a dreamy little girl to work with :).  She slept like a champ and let me try all kinds of different set ups.  I think the first might just be my favorite though…so simple, so sweet :).

Baby P….3 Weeks New {The Woodlands, TX | Baby Photographer}

Baby P had a rough start in this world–he had to spend way too long in the hospital and undergo surgery before he even made it home, but you can tell after going through all of that, he is a fighter–he has a strong and beautiful heart inside of him, and that will take him far in this world!  So, at 3 weeks old, these are Baby P’s Newborn portraits…I can’t wait to see him as he grows!!

Friday Favorites….Where the Heart Is {The Woodlands, TX | Newborn Photographer}

Twins are tough work…for Mom and Dad too I’m sure!  It takes a lot of time and patience to execute a single Newborn Session, when you’re dealing with twins…it takes twice as much!  But they are so worth it (I’m sure Mom and Dad would agree), and the images of them together are so completely priceless!  I especially love this one because of how their tiny little bodies are curled together just right to form a heart.  Such a symbol of the love they will share their entire lives!  Happy Friday Everyone!!
